tailgate-2009

Suneel Ram is a ten year old boy, and the only son of Dr. Neera Gulati and Dr. Raghu Ram, both local physicians. Suneel suffers from Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy, the most lethal genetic childhood disease which targets young boys, without regard to ethnicity, and leads to death from respiratory or heart failure by their early 20’s. Without a breakthrough in ongoing medical research and treatment, there is little hope that Suneel, and other children like him, will live to adulthood. Suneel’s Light, a charitable foundation designed to fund critical research for treatments and a cure for Duchenne’s Disease, has been founded in Suneel’s name by Dr. Neera Gulati.

On Sunday, October 18, 2009, the Foundation is holding its annual fundraising event, “Tailgate For A Cure,” at Samuel’s Grande Manor. The doors will open at 1:05 pm, the Chinese auction will begin, and the festivities will kick off with live entertainment from “The Boys of Summer.” The tailgate buffet will start at 2:30 pm, the live auction comes in at 3:30 pm, and the Bills v. New York Jets game hits the big screen at 4:05.

We are asking that you consider making a donation to this event in the form of a gift that can be auctioned at the event, a cash donation that can be used to defray the costs associated with the event, or buy a ticket and join us. Your tax deductible contribution will go a long way in helping us raise the funds necessary to continue the research currently underway to find a treatment and cure for this deadly disease.  Please complete the enclosed Donation Form and call 852-6916 to arrange for pick up of your auction donation, or mail your cash contribution to the address below. Thank You for your courtesy and consideration of this request.
